I'd love to know why it took them FIVE YEARS to build a 9 storey building....

Don't hold your breath for anything interesting in this building. Pemberton is known as a landlord that's extremely difficult to deal with and will only do deals on their terms.

Yes, absolutely. The site was originally owned by Bazis International and their lenders (including I believe Minto) went to court to try to force Bazis to sell them the vacant land as they claimed Bazis had defaulted on the loan. Bazis ended up winning in court and selling the site to Great Gulf.

This "skyscraper" building is part of the Dockside Quinte development. Approval granted last year for 3 thirteen-storey mixed use condominium buildings.
