Well styled, attractive windows usually don't have balcony. Somehow they don't coexist with each other.

Some insider on the executive level of a major builder told me that generally good looking building cost 30% more. Money wise, almost no builder wants to spend that kind of money and it barely helps the sales. It is the city set the bar very high for building approval. Of course city wants...

I agree. Wasn't trying to defend it. I was just saying from the aspect of interior layout design only. I personally hate those columns inside a bedroom...it's kinky

If building use more curtain-walls, they tend to put support structure, pillar or column in less desirable spot inside the unit. with spandrel, they place more support structure on the exterior wall of the building

Unit layout is usually better in ugly building. They sacrifice the look for practicality. While ppl complain about spandrel, it gives more flexibility in interior layout design

I must say there once were lots of foreign investors in pre-con market, but that's before NRST Ever since 2017, it's easier for realtors to run into alien on the street than foreign investor. Shameless politicians still deflect the blame on foreign investors, and the public still buy this BS.

They are referring to the two heritage buildings (Manhattan apartment) that were originally on the site. The facade has to be retained, therefore they are being moved to protect them. If you look closely at previous photos, builder lifted them up and built a foundation. That's why it's complicated.

The heritage building on Peter st. was burnt and demolished last year. Why is it still in rendering?

https://www.ontario.ca/page/list-essential-workplaces#section-8 And I quote "Construction work and services, including demolition services, in the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential sectors " Apparently it is, but city has shut down 3 construction sites for safety measure...

construction is deemed essential business, builder just have to take precaution, limit the number workers etc.
