    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I would vote for any politician who tears out the 401 and 400

I'm guessing based on the turnout on the east end of the station the on being installed will also be a 25 mph turnout?

Even along the Bala there are some very difficult terrain such as lakes, rock cuts and high embankments. The cost for the bala would be astronomical. Then add that cost for the Ruel, Caramat, Allanwater and Redditt subdivision and thats just to double track to Winnipeg.

Max length for trains on the Bala sub is about 13000, might be 12k feet but i would have to double check on that... However in recent memory the longest train I've been on was just shy of 12k feet.

1.94 km is 6364 feet which added to the 6500 that zephyr has already would make it 12,864 feet

What I can think of is all the stations except Georgetown are on the south side of the corridor. Also that the Weston sub comes in at the south side of the Halton Sub at Halwest.

Just Medora and Brechin East are signaled sidings with 25 mph speed limits. Medora fits about 13k feet and Brechin East fits 12.6k but only 8.8k between crossings That's kinda why I mentioned extending smail southwards to the crossing south of smail (would then fit 14k feet) or moving Pefferlaw...

I would probably extend it southwards rather than northwards has a bridge and crossing directly next to each other. The large oversiding sidings Medora and Brechin East on the Bala are maximum 25 mph while the other sidings are 10-15 mph sidings.

I feel like moving pefferlaw(mp55) or extending smail (mp85) either southward or northward would also be a good option. Extending Zephyr southward to Queensville Sideroad would fit approximately 8800 feet (I'm talking about oversiding freight trains that currently only fit in Medora).

Are they installing CTC on the Newmarket and doing anything new for the Newmarket or Bala subdivisions?

Possibly 3 in the future with the Milton logistics hub. In short not happening .

So currently the Furgus spur is 10 mph rule 105 track, the proposed pinebush go station sits on the Galt spur. This has some 5mph track on it. The distance between Pinebush GO and Guelph Central is approximately 11.5 miles (18.5 km), which at current speeds would take about 1hr 10 minutes...

Good luck with that CN - CP connection at Humber/Woodbridge... the CN grades there are already close to 1% going in and out of the valley, add in going even further down in elevation for the CP track and you are talking maybe 2% grades. Also good luck getting CN and CP to share track that close...

In the month of January alone I've had 6 near misses. Now I don't operate the GO trains so I can't speak for them but for alot of these near misses ive had if we were going passenger speed it would be a completely different story. Just people with bike or pedestrians ignoring crossing gates or...

Yeah very curvy with steep grades. The CP Hamilton sub averages 30 - 20 mph.

They service that customer every other day. The cars go in the building usually but there is space for a few outside. I haven't worked that job in a while but that's how it was when I did work it.

Those are from the same roadswitcher power pool from macyard, they also have a beltpack mode which is why you can see them in bit yard.

Also note the red lighting in the cab, means they put the train in emergency. (The GE evolution series locomotives do this).

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

As far as im aware in freight, shove moves with a conductor riding the point are limited to 25 mph. I thought that would be the case with the a movement nor led by a locomotive or cabcar such as the Canadian or non-siemiens equipment moves.

    Orangeville-Brampton Railway (OBRY)

The employee timetables I have from 1977 have it as 35 mph maximum, I'm wondering if it was faster before. If you could get 50mph track it could be decently competitive with driving.
