While I love a fun and thoughtful colour palette - my first reaction is that these combinations sit so harshly against each other. But who knows - maybe they'll grow on me?

I can't help but feel that Toronto underutilizes the chicane. Instead of another set of lights here, I wonder if this would have been better suited to a chicane? Slow down the driving speed of the vehicles with physical barriers, rather than forcing a complete stop.

This is a big one. Four way stops impede the flow of naturally moving traffic, creating artificial jams. Yield/Give Way signage is much smarter for a residential intersection.

I want to like these renders more than I do. Whilst I agree that this bold architectural facade is a welcome shift from the usual bland iterative design we're so used to, but there's something about the awkward proportions that look heavy and somewhat unrefined.

Ugh, yet another furniture store. I suppose at least it's not a cannabis store. This neighbourhood could have really benefited from a couple of restaurants or grocer.

Agreed. I go by this build a few times per week. While I doubt it will ever win any architectural awards, it's a nice pop of colour which is a welcome change from the grey and glass towers we're so used to. Coupled with the black framing, it's got a Mondrian vibe going on which is a neat quirk.

For me, the ideal urban density is that of Barcelona, Oslo, Paris or Stockholm; at 5 - 10 storeys the scale just feels right. With this scale, population densities can support transit and solid amenities, but you don't feel boxed in, wind tunnels are less-severe. The experience is much more...

I've always assumed the mismatched cladding was to create the illusion of multiple buildings, rather than one hulking mass. IMO it is, so far, serving that purpose.
