ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

It's hard to justify with the current budget situation tho. Doesn't help that there was a certain police trip taken recently that attracted a lot of eyeballs...

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

https://pub-edmonton.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=290436 BRT and TPM update. Crazy how the 1.25 million target has come and gone. https://www.scribd.com/document/366641966/Metropolitan-Edmonton-Transportation-Study-METS-Volume-2-Plan-and-Program-1963 The original BRT...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

There are a couple of projects that are not part of the Yellowhead Trail Freeway programme as well: - Beverly Bridge rehab (underway) - 17 St NW bridge replacements (beginning this year) Outside City limits there are several packages of work lined up: - 8 laning from AHD to Century Road -...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

No need to turn what should be a win for Edmonton into a defeat as well.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Well, bro, I think you're deliberately conflating LRT and transit access. You do understand there is existing bus access to the proposed site right? You also do understand that people are able to access medical services even in the absence of nearby LRT service? I *do* know what happens at...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Having a new hospital isn't good enough? I guess there's no pleasing some folks.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

They can also take the bus. Obviously it would be ideal if a location near LRT was chosen, but the City doesn't really have a say in the matter. Between this and no hospital I'd pick the former any day. Heck, maybe it'll convince the city to upgrade the SW BRT to LRT.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

The funeral home itself sometimes creates traffic issues if there's a funeral procession, but I guess there's no getting around that.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

Ugh. Dollars to doughnuts it'll be a copy of 149 St.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

I don't think lack of LRT access is a huge issue -- kids won't be taking the train to the hospital on their own (I hope). If need be the 31 BRT runs right past the proposed site -- fairly straightforward to add an additional stop there.

Did they update the wording on the website? I guess that's it then.

    Edmonton | Strathearn Heights Redevelopment | 81m | ?s | Nearctic Group | GEC

There was that one development (Link 95) that just sprang up overnight a couple blocks west. I was startled at first until I saw the gravel lot further down.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

Not really, since Metro Line has a bunch of grade crossings that buses will be stuck waiting at. For Options 1 and 2, the bus stops at 111 / 118 will service Royal Alex and NAIT respectively, so it's not like any major destinations are being missed. Any connections missed by not stopping at...

    Capital Line LRT

It was mentioned in the Mass transit study, there was some discussion a couple pages back. It is the converse -- i.e. this rebuild has bearing on a University Ave grade separation, at least in the near future. This is an explicit lesson learnt from the West Edmonton Mall transit centre debacle.

    Capital Line LRT

https://www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/article/intersection-on-university-avenue-will-be-closed-to-vehicles-lrt-pedestrians/ I guess this means the University Ave grade separation is off the table for the near future.
