Why do you think domestic is down? Mostly Flair down year over year?.

    Edmonton's Population

I thought he probably wasn't aware of Alberta's fixed rate options which are at 10 cents KwH at the moment... less than BC. Probably he just looked at a comparison of the floating rates.

    Best Cities Ranking

Housing Affordability- percentage of earnings going to average shelter costs - seems like it should have a large weighting in ranking cities.

    Downtown

Maybe having a gritty downtown is actually Edmonton's secret affordability weapon. Affordability alone will probably make Edmonton the fastest growing city in canada over the next 5 years. And I think a big part of why it's more affordable is that DT is less polished than other places.

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

Will be interesting to see if Edmonton can maintain its affordability. Last year with 60,000 new Edmontonians and somehow we're still quite affordable and numerous condos still available for under $100k. Maybe we just have the capacity to grow faster than we think.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

One wild card is Edmonton's population. If Edmonton can manage to stay more affordable while accommodating tens of thousands of new comers, we could be expected to see even greater population growth. In a few short years the population will hit 2 million and could hit 2.5 in maybe 15 yrs...

    Edmonton's Population

Yeah explains why things are getting crazy around here. Edmonton has become much more well known now for the sole reason that it is affordable in 2024. Still are decent condos for $100k-$200k here. And single family homes for $450k.

    Downtown

Getting 40,000 residents is going to be a decades long journey. On the other hand, with a bit of work, we might be able to get 40,000 office workers, tourists, day time and night time visitors with a bit of work and a real concerted push. More and more I'm questioning the dogma of focusing...

    Downtown Real Estate

Edmonton is still relatively empty and DT is built like the DT of a city with 3 million people. It's simple, we just need more people here. In both region and city. This will drive growth. I think Edmonton could pretty easily accommodate an annual 5% growth rate just by the way the city is...
