Drove past this time so I couldn't grab a picture, but the elevator shaft forms are in place it appears for the 6th and final living floor. It does appear that there is a setback 7th floor for mechanical, but the final floor has begun. Curious to see the cladding on this, but even more excited...

I actually think our affordable housing looks better than some market housing being built in the US. I welcome anyone here to take on affordable housing development though. The issue becomes, do you spend an extra $300,000 to make the building nicer and house 1 less family when the list of...

I agreed. It's really weird and uncomfortable. I'm also wondering if it was done to mitigate wind as I recall the DRP noting far too high wind speeds at ground floor.

Lamb is apparently buying up a bunch of properties in this area so I wouldn't be surprised.

Also Le Tambour is pretty excellent. We went the other night for the first time, and would recommend. Their wine selection was pretty good too.

It is really hard to tell. It appears to me that the west side is at grade, but no wall forms have been placed yet.

Poking up behind houses in the neighbourhood next door, seen while cycling for the first time on the mountain:

Took a bike ride yesterday down to Pier 8 to check this property, the Pier 8 area and the park that is still being worked on:

Thanks! I'll report it! Edit: Reported to Municipal Enforcement, only took 25 minutes on hold #VeryEfficientCity

Hamilton's downtown is looking at a 15%-20% increase in the number of people living downtown in the next 5 years. That's a huge jump in people actively using downtown as their home. Not to mention many living in condos and are more likely to be out and about. Like I said, in my time living here...

This is a really odd point to make. Hamilton doesn't have a lot of financial firms. We don't need people with suits on. We just need a few more people that are typical middle class people roaming. In my time living in downtown, I feel more safe and more comfortable now than I did when we first...

The American Elevator Explains Why Housing Costs Have Skyrocketed

This is the constant issue with the current housing debate. We are in a crisis. Anything and everything should be looked at to reduce housing costs, increase saleable space, increase speed of construction. This means things that cost money or make developments not pencil out: - As of right...

I also think people misunderstand what "rich" is. People that can afford these units (ie. Myself, STEC and others here) aren't too good for being around those with mental health issues and poverty seeing as how we live downtown now. I don't think that "solves" the issues downtown, but it will...

Always something that could be better! I wouldn't stress about it, seems like even just a month off is a good deal!

Today, these look rough as hell, but... I guess it's okay for infill. Also for some reason their fencing had barbed wire on top, almost sliced my hand...

Still some finishing touches, but looking nearly done. Really odd alleyway created here between this building and KiWi. I really don't understand why they didn't bring the buildings against each other with an expansion joint. I have to assume this will be gated shut in future, but right now it...
