I found that bridge a little ‘stuck up’. I’ll see myself out.

@70Challenger is right on. There’s a number of reasons for the uneven texture in certain places. First of which is the original construction method, since the silos were formed and poured in layers. So there have always been distinct horizontal bands of varying tones and textures which you can...

Big concrete pour on Wednesday for Bathurst Quay Common’s water’s edge terrace. We’ll start to strip the formwork on Monday, followed by structural steel and Silva cells (for the trees to be planted in/through the deck) installation. All leading up to start of carpentry work in May.

Thank you. Our whole silo team (City of Toronto; Moon-Matz Engineering; Brook Restoration; ERA Architects; Best Painting) is really proud of these results. And we’re just getting started! 😄 New architectural lighting is being installed and commissioned with the adjoining new park, Bathurst Quay...

Right on schedule, on Thursday the last of the scaffolding was removed from the east elevation, thus fully revealing the completed repairs.

Including the Federal GIBC funding announcement this was nearly $7M in new funding for the Corleck, which the Canada Ireland Foundation has been working to secure over the last 2 years. A huge milestone for this project which is sure to become a busy four-season anchor in the heart of the new...

A quick and sincere thanks for the recent and much too generous feedback. This has been a passion project for several years, and to know the work is appreciated by the UT community means a tremendous amount. Sharing a few update photos. Another big concrete pour for the park coming up after...

We’re actually replicating the silo font for the park’s gateway signage and site furniture branding. Mock ups coming soon!

Correct! When Moment Factory did our silo projection feasibility study (with thanks to the Waterfront BIA for funding that work), they reviewed and signed off on the new tint colour.

Take a bow, @bgobgo . After a feasibility review, we've just issued a change order to include one additional spotlight on this north elevation of the north silo. This was a great suggestion and we thank you for it. So now when you see the north silo illuminated from Queen and Portland, you...

Scaffolding removal in progress on the east side of the north silo. The new sign is looking great. And form work underway in the new park.

Thanks, our team is really pleased with the sign results. Yes, we’ve already installed a short catwalk up top to connect the two rooftops, since the north silo’s ‘head house’ relies on the south silo’s interior stair for access. See attached photo. You’ll start to see this new connection from...

From yesterday. The final “NG” on “MALTING” will be completed in the Spring. Reason is that this last section overlaps with and requires use of the mast climber, which is presently tied up supporting roof and tower repairs. The pile of concrete you see beside the Corleck are the last...

Thanks @rdaner ! Our slow reveal of the ongoing and painstaking reproduction of the Canada Malting silos signage continues. We arranged an inspection today from the rooftop of the neighbouring Arcadia Co-op building (2nd photo below) just to make sure it was reading properly when viewed from a...

Sharing a first look at the now completed restoration of the ‘Canada Malting Co’ signage. Seen here is the west elevation, plus a ‘before’ shot for comparison, and an archives photo from Maple Leaf Stadium (now Little Norway Park). Both sides will be revealed over the winter months as...

From Thursday: our first concrete pour for the new park, Bathurst Quay Common. With removals nearly complete and this base now in place, the pace of park construction will visibly pick up. Form work for structural footings will start to be erected next week on top of this slab. Also by the end...

Great pics! That’s the perimeter outline for the park’s ‘sun deck’ - a large terrace being built with sustainably sourced thermal ash, and which will be filled with moveable furniture. The very first concrete pour is actually scheduled for this week. We’re starting with pouring a mud slab base...
