Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Wondering if the TBM made it to the south side of the 401 before this happened?

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

With the Sheppard subway extension possibly/probably looping down and meeting up with this new STC stop my guess is this will provide a direct link to the mall. They are temporarily closing McCowan rd at the end of August for 5 days for around the clock work to remove the Progress bridge but...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I like the idea of interlining and taking advantage of existing stations on either end. However using new technologies, Automatic train control and hopefully driverless trains on the Sheppard line could make this difficult.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Not duplicating infrastructure but taking advantage of exiting infrastructure/stations at both ends to eliminate transfers. Merging with the existing Downsview tunnel in the west or looping south into the new McCowan/Sheppard station in the east and going south to STC as has been suggested.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Having the option to merge the Sheppard line west to Downsview or even Finch station has merit. This allows one transfer from the Finch LRT or transfers to the Downsview Go. With the possibility of running further north if needed in the future

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Most likely following the Go train corridor and then using the east west SRT right of way.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The connection to Sheppard west station will either require a loop to connect with line 1 or it could continue west and merge with the track going to Downsview

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

The plan was to reach the intervention shaft south of Brimorton dr late summer/early fall and fix the TBM. I wonder if that’s still on schedule. Hopefully it made it past the 401 without any snags.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Final design is years off, if this project even gets off the ground. I personally don’t see underground in these low density areas, possibly elevated in sections. The success or failure of the crosstown and finch line once up and running will heavily influence this design. The underground...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

project not funded, 10% design phases is to see if this is feasible and to create discussion. This project competes with the Sheppard East extension. Scarborough needs to decide what is priority, movement within Scarborough or subway connecting it to the rest of city.

This process of community consultation focused on this one project is extremely flawed. Let’s be honest, many more buildings/projects of compatible size are coming to this area. Individual Project by project analysis at this stage while asking a community to undergo unknown intense change...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I like this plan if the province decides to go with LRT instead of subways. This could then be tied into the Eglinton east LRT extension creating a Scarborough loop connecting subway stops, Go stops, shopping centres, U of T, Centennial college and future TOC’s. Hopefully utilizing the...

The constant movement of people behind the home plate seats is distracting. Putting a barrier behind the last row of seats would solve this and also help cover some of that faux stone

Great pics, thank you! Makes you realize the potential of the area. Lots of single family homes on their way out to make way for new development. Hopefully city and province come up with a plan to develop this area starting with a new hospital.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I believe the urgency for housing will make the sheppard line in whatever form it takes a priority for the province. Future residential intensification of Scarborough needs to be properly planned. The Feds with their 6 billion dollar plan with freedom to build fourplexes in existing...

    Toronto Toronto | Lawrence East Transit-Oriented Community | 132m | 36s | Infrastructure ON | Weston Williamson

I agree the more planning we do now the better the community will be once it’s built. The question is how is this done with all the existing single family homes, I don’t see the city or province buying up all these properties. Unfortunately setting new zoning and allowing developers to come...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I see Sheppard being extended west and possibly one or two stations east before a full extension to McCowan. Connecting the Allen rd side with Yonge needs to finally happen especially with the Finch LRT starting up and the Yonge Subway extension on its way.

Private developers will be the ones who develop the non metrolinx properties. IO with the TOC program will get the ball rolling with there proposed deveoplment on this metrolinx staging site. Most of the community intensification will be provided by private developers once the city puts...

    Toronto Toronto | Lawrence East Transit-Oriented Community | 132m | 36s | Infrastructure ON | Weston Williamson

The province needs to better define the TOC 500 metre radius around these new stations. With OMB challenges barred within this 500 metre radius, existing neighbourhoods will be helpless to shape these new communities. Sounds like a lot of high rise development is going to get a quick rubber...
