    Downtown

A real shame too. I wanted to vote for her in 2021 because she seemed like she was genuinely interested in business development, particularly for downtown. But the moment she said she wanted to cancel the West LRT, I noped out so fast.

    Edmonton | Exhibition Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I hope they keep 118th Ave below-grade, not just to maintain uninterrupted access between the Coliseum grounds and the current exhibition grounds, but also because what’s the point of adding an at-grade LRT crossing to a busy east-west roadway? Especially on a railway ROW with the space for a...

    Edmonton Oilers

Even if we beat the Avs first round, we’d then have to go up against Dallas or Minnesota, and then we definitely don’t stand a chance of getting past the second round.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

The western half of the dead mall desperately needs to go to make the area around this station feel like less of a black hole for vibrancy. My girlfriend and I were boarding the train here and she said she’d love to see it razed and converted to a new park (that should be fenced off for private...

Welcome to the forum. Ignore @MacLac. You’ll see from a lot of his posts that he’s kinda kooky.

    Municipal Politics

I continue to believe that him being absent from that one infill vote last July, which he motioned for and which would have passed had he been present to vote, singlehandedly killed his credibility and cost him the election.

    Edmonton | Stadium Yards | ?m | 6s | Rohit Communities

Train noises are fine. Crossing gate bells, not so much. Although I do wonder, what are the regulations around having "silent" crossing gates (just flashing lights and gates, no bells) at LRT crossings to reduce noise for surrounding neighbourhoods? If they are allowed without compromising train...

    Capital Line LRT

You’d have to redo the whole intersection for Gateway Boulevard to dip down in elevation to meet with 34th Ave. Some driveways to the adjacent businesses from Gateway would be eliminated as a result. Worth it though, as the traffic here is terrible in rush hour when trains roll through.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Damn, between COVID, US tariffs (and travel boycotts) and high fuel prices (twice!), YEG just can't catch a break.

    Edmonton music concerts

Crazy year for concerts and music festivals in this city! Igloofest, Neon Skies, Boots’n’Hearts, Rockin Thunder, so many big Commonwealth concerts and Roger’s Place concerts I can’t even keep track of, Scream 2026 and hopefully DSTRKT is back with another great lineup in the fall. And I don’t...

    Edmonton music concerts

At this point, OEG needs to be the one running K-Days (or at least partnering up with Explore Edmonton), since they currently have a monopoly on tons of big shows, and aside from music concerts, a lot of people like myself don’t really care to go.

    Edmonton music concerts

Most people in the age demographic that currently attends music festivals the most still love her music (especially the late-2000s/early 2010s dance pop)

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

I think the years indicate when traffic levels reached (or will reach) the threshold that justifies widening the highway to 6/8 lanes.

    Misc. Transportation Projects

It’s not just Twin Brooks that benefits. The entire Heritage Valley area gets another all-directional interchange and that also improves private vehicle and bus access to the new LRT station and Park n Ride.

    Misc. Transportation Projects

As someone who commutes here daily, I wholeheartedly disagree. The congestion is because of how much traffic gets funnelled onto only 3 interchanges on the Henday for the whole Southwest. The Rabbit Hill Road logjam? That’s because there’s so much Chappelle-bound traffic trying to make a left at...
