    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Out of curiosity, which other cities would have this that you're thinking of?

    Edmonton | Bonnie Doon Mall Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

I think it’s also so that if some die it won’t have as big an effect than if there were fewer trees. That’s purely a guess though

    Warehouse District Park

Who let 'Big Fountain' into the forum?

    Warehouse District Park

Considering that downtown has two massive fountains at City Hall and the Legislature as well as water features at Violet King Henry Plaza and Alex Decoteau makes me think it's probably OK. Tbh I think Edmonton does pretty well in the "parks that are good for pondering in" department, so I don't...

    LRT Expansion Planning

@Reecemartin I just want to thank you for taking many precious hours to research our city’s system and propose a possible plan that is meant to outline how we should go about building transit in the future. You can’t possibly know everything about the transit situation, and I’m not sure why...

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

There was a restriction until the 60s-70s but since the 90s there have been protected views of parliament that mostly prevent very tall buildings from being built downtown.

Yeah, speaking as a resident of the area, it's an assured daily occurrence. That being said, I don't think commercial space in McKernan/Belgravia is gonna change the habits of people who want to get on the Whitemud faster. I would bet 95% of the congestion is passing through with very little...

    Edmonton | Michener Park Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

If you meant development pace, then I misunderstood. Definitely much faster than Blatchford which is admittedly impressive.

    High Level Bridge

I wonder if they’ll use lane control (like Connors Rd) for Walterdale

    Edmonton | Michener Park Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

Really doubt it’ll put Blatchford to shame. Michener isn’t directly adjacent to the university, so I wouldn’t expect it to compare. Thank god U-District is impressive considering how deeply unimpressive the other areas around the u of c are.

    Edmonton | The Jameson | 53.95m | 17s | Open Sky | Acton Ostry

https://www.edmonton.ca/transportation/transportation-data Got that info from the AAWDT volume map but there's also information on pedestrians, cyclists, collisions, etc.

    Edmonton | The Jameson | 53.95m | 17s | Open Sky | Acton Ostry

It's not really that important for cars. The AAWDT (average annual weekday traffic) volumes sit around 2,500 vs. 12,000 on 116 St, 3,000 on 118 St, and 10,000-20,000 on 124 St.

    Edmonton | The Jameson | 53.95m | 17s | Open Sky | Acton Ostry

Huh? It is well used. I'd argue this would make the park even more permeable by integrating the active thoroughfare into the greenspace.

    Misc. Infrastructure Projects

I’m sure this kind of feedback was provided ad nauseam during the engagement for this renewal, and I’m sure it was heard, but this kind of feedback is akin to the opposition to the new zoning bylaw; almost wholly concerned with the present reality and misinformed assumptions rather than what...

    Capital Line LRT

Was also curious. Used this website: https://censusmapper.ca/maps/new#11/53.5462/-113.4912 to add up the census tract populations for all those south of the Henday and got approx. 130,000 which is from the 2021 census. Using the same method, population was approx. 86,000 in 2016. A rough...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

That makes sense. It was just that section, after Davies it was back to normal. Thanks for the clarification!

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Took the valley line for fun/to see how it is. On the way south, we barely waited at any intersections at all, maybe not even once. On the way back up we stopped at almost all intersections between Mill Woods and the elevated guideway, it was a little bit unreal. Why so inconsistent? Also I...
