I'm so glad I went to the Heritage Festival on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon. I'm sure many people had the same idea because the festival was packed that day!

I should clarify that SB drivers won't have access to the casino or the rest area until the Maskwacis interchange just a couple of minutes south. There is a small turnoff to NB traffic just south of the rest area, but if you fart you miss it. I have no idea what plans are in place for SB traffic.

The Bear Hills Casino on the QE2 near the Wetaskiwin interchange opened about 2 months ago. There is some more work to complete such as a new Petro-Canada gas station and an entrance/exit for QE2 SB drivers.

It probably didn't help that sticking a major hotel on the 4th St Promenade would have required underground parking and a dedicated entry/exit for guest check-ins, taxis, etc. I would much rather see an ALT Hotel on the BMO site (assuming Regency quits farting around) or in the Allard parking...
