How did progress look? Are they on schedule to welcome first F-35s domestically in 2028?

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Such a sad state of affairs. I never see police around.

    Capital Line LRT

That makes good sense looking at the path. A interesting tidbit I don't know if I caught in the master plan previously is the "rebuild and repurpose" of parkade 1. Could be a nice project to clean up arrivals level roadways and improve the rental car area.

    Capital Line LRT

Would be nice to have the LRT first loop right by the terminal and then carry on towards closer to the highway which could align with future HSR stop and include a park and ride to serve Leduc.

    Federal Politics

I’m not saying there’s never a place or situation for floor crossing but this is starting to feel a bit gross and a slap in the face of voters.

    Capital Line LRT

Might be a easy priority alignment to be found between the city and province on a project like this. Other parts of the light rail network have been built out sufficiently such that there are plenty of direct or one transfer train only destinations available to feed to and from the airport. This...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

It's interesting to see Air Canada starting to dabble ever so slightly in sun flights from YEG. First Cancun a few years ago and now Montego Bay. Never hurts to keep Westjet honest on that front.

    LRT Safety

These type of situations have been reported enough, and are clearly obvious enough that the onus is no longer on the general public to be reporting. Those responsible for ensuring safe and clean spaces need to be taking action and maintaining a consistent presence until the point in which the...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Feel like I've been negative on this front but it's looking like another tough year ahead for passenger numbers at YEG with Jan & Feb already seeing lower numbers. Fuel prices aren't exclusive to YEG but it does tend to get hit harder than others. Things change quickly though so who knows.

    Capital Line LRT

It just has to be a priority, whatever the train looks like or what route it takes, to get it out to the airport ASAP. Edmonton needs this kind of economic force multiplier.

A very good opportunity to think more broadly about what can be in the surrounding area for sure.

Thanks for explaining. I do agree it has the potential to add to the bureaucracy (even if intended to cut through it) but only time will tell. As for supporting corporate development, my personal belief is that we need more of that if we want to expand/diversify trade, along with building up the...

    Federal Politics

I need to understand more of why she would be opposed to the major projects office. The office is based in her home province and is intended to support projects that should be creating good paying jobs. I understand opposing certain projects if she is anti oil & gas but the office itself is a...

    Alberta Politics

It's probably similar to federal ridings on a different scale where it's not just population but physical area served that is a factor. Never a perfect solution but I think accusations of gerrymandering is a bit harsh.

Love the brick and glass. Nice and simple without any crazy colours just for the sake of them is nice. I'm not a fan of the tetris style or whatever that might be going up a portion of the tower but there are worse things for sure. Well done. Here's to good uptake and continued buildout.

    Federal Politics

Lewis seems to have a strong vision and mandate for the direction of where the party is going. If this vision differs from where the party stood previously floor crossings could very well be possible. I suspect someone like Steven Guilbeault would be interested in crossing over to the NDP...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

What is a artificial hub? I think driving to Calgary plays a part, I wonder if less traffic from oilfield workers out east has played a part in dampening YEGs numbers to offset the big population gains. It is quite perplexing seeing no growth over a decade where population has exploded for sure.

    Alberta Politics

This is good news from a provincial budget perspective as it is basically cutting the projected deficit from the most recent forecast of $4 billion in half to around $2 billion. Should prices remain elevated this could really help with a positive start to the upcoming fiscal year. It sounds like...

    Federal Politics

This is a very important step taken, even if it wasn't a very difficult choice, it is one that previous governments weren't willing to risk taking due to public sentiment. The issue is that we realistically won't have the military capability we need for another 15 years or so with the long...
