@FW36, I don't think keeping the existing mall is the best use of this site long term. What everywhere in Canada needs now is more family sized (3 bedroom+) housing aimed at lower income Canadians. What I think is appropriate for this site is a bunch of 6 storey buildings with neighbourhood...

Hello I visited the Hudson's Bay @ Polo Park (store #1140) in Winnipeg this weekend 1. Hudson's Bay Optical (powered by Glasses Gallery), the PureBeauty Salon & Spa and the Sunglasses Hut concession closed down since a previous visit last winter. Polo Park is one of those stores with a...

    Woodbine Centre

I hope we will hear soon about a multiuse redevelopment of Woodbine Centre. I think a multiuse redevelopment could include a Shoppers' Drug Mart if it includes a 2nd floor multi-physician medical clinic.

Looking at that directory and noticing all the vacancies, you have to wonder how soon until this mall is demolished.

CNBC reports: Apartments, hockey rinks and Amazon warehouses: Macy’s closures will set off a wave of change at shopping malls Macy's is expected to get down to 350-ish stores by 2027. I'm amused that Hudson's Bay isn't closing its stores as aggressively as Macy's. To mirror Macy's, I expect...

I wonder if Cadillac Fairview will partially redevelop the ex-Simpsons Queen Street store with HBC's consent. I'm in Winnipeg and from what I read online the Saks at 176 Yonge isn't doing well and might close. It's too bad that Saks Fifth Avenue didn't open at Yorkdale or in BC's Lower Mainland.

    Woodbine Centre

I think that Hudson's Bay wants to close all of its lowest "Silver" tier stores, which in Metro Toronto includes its Woodbine, Elgington Square and Centrpoint stores while maintaining redevelopment rights if it holds below market-rate leases.

Hudson's Bay and Student Price Card are ending their partnership on Sunday, August 24th at 11:59pm ET. Over the last 8 months I was able to earn 15% back in Hudson's Bay Rewards points. If I was truly a student I could've also saved 10% instore on regular and sale priced clothing, footwear and...

Has anyone heard any "good news" about Hudson's Bay this week? Is your local Hudson's Bay store still closed due to lack of a functional Air Conditioning system? Someone had mentioned on reddit that the (Winnipeg) Polo Park store's AC has been offline for over a whole year.

I hope that Hudson's Bay isn't filing for bankruptcy in Canada for its Canadian operations. It's promotional activity has been minimal for the past 2 weeks with no storewide promotional events.

I wonder if Macy's or Canadian Tire would be a good buyer for the Hudson's Bay and its Canadian operations. I'm thinking Macy's because Hudson's Bay carries many Macy's exclusive brands. I'm thinking Canadian Tire because they are Canada's most successful multi-banner retailers. What do you...

    Hudson's Bay Company

FYI: The Bay's website recently rebranded back to Hudson's Bay. For a while, Hudson's Bay experimented with spinning off its website. I guess that failed. The website no longer has any Trusted Brand Partners, it cannot parcel ship to the territories up north and its pricing is higher than...
