Really itching to see this kick off. Can't wait for the increased density this will add on top of the oliver and park central being completed.

What cranes are up in the downtown currently aside from the Broward and 4th Street Lofts? I haven't seen any others recently from where I'm located in the downtown core or when commuting in/out. I definitely recall far more cranes in the downtown when I moved here initially.

Any ideas if move-in has started?

How long do DP approval timelines usually take for buildings of this size in Calgary? I realize thata a tough question that may not have a concrete answer.

Side walks open just in time for stampede 😍

They've removed most of the traffic construction barriers/pylons from the road now. Still some work being finished on the sidewalk itself. Looks like completion is imminent.

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

Just visited Halifax and I am a bit surprised that the population is not larger. It is one of Canada's older cities, and even with events like the Halifax Explosion I would have expected a larger mass of people to be present. For one, there are only so many cities with Canada that have access to...

Thinking of moving here once the development is done because I work in the area, but I'm not sure if I would get woken up frequently due to the close proximity to the foothills hospital and the ambulances that would be coming by.

The best part is the boost in density and foot traffic begets more of the same. The boost to local businesses and increased demand will only make additional residential developments more likely. Looking forward to hopefully seeing more momentum pick up in terms of new downtown builds.

Apparently ~50% of the units are occupied already. Gotta admit the title gave me a laugh https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/a-renter-s-dream-converted-office-building-providing-options-for-calgary-renters-1.6915074

Always sad to see small businesses like this getting hurt... I hope they can relocate somewhere.

I wasn't aware of this. Any source I can read up on to understand the nuances of this better? I'm glad that this and the other recent build on the block will add some foot traffic to the area and will hopefully draw some more construction and business that far westward. I think the area still...

    Calgary | Oliver | 121.3m | 35s | Centron | Gibbs Gage

Between the second tower almost being completed and the opening of two park central nearby a few months back, this will be a huge boost to the vibrancy and foot traffic of this part of the beltline. I'm sure the local businesses will surely benefit as well

Anyone think they will manage to complete this by July?

    Calgary | West Tenth 1400 | 24m | 7s | Trimount

It's challenging because it's a major area for drivers exiting the downtown to go to work. I have to drive through the intersection to get to work most days, and unfortunately there aren't many options public transit wise that could serve as an alternative given where I live and where I work...

    Crane Count

In the spirit of this thread, I'm curious if there is any thread or place that tracks the builds completed in a given calendar year? Would be cool to look back on all that is completed in a given 12 month span.

    Calgary | West Tenth 1400 | 24m | 7s | Trimount

Wow that is one desolate looking image. So glad that the intersection will see some life now.

https://majorprojects.alberta.ca/details/The-Hat-@-14th-Street/8544 Project is complete according to this government link, but they still only have pre-registration offered on the actual building's website. Any ideas when move-ins will commence? It has to be imminent here.

    Calgary | United Place Conversion | 27m | 8s | United Canadian Investments

Cornerstone has been completed so idk if I would count that as on the go :)

    Calgary | Palliser One | 122m | 27s

If I'm not mistaken this project seems to be the largest of the downtown office conversions in terms of sheer building size. I wonder if the financial risk was too high for other similar sized building conversions to be proposed and/or greenlit under the program.
