On the agenda of the last Planning and Priorities meeting of the TDSB was an item for declaring a small portion of Maplewood HS's land surplus ( a 20M wide strip at the north end of their property, essentially a landscape buffer for their parking).


Gabriel Dumont Non-Profit homes is the owner of an adjacent affordable housing complex at 4201 Kingston Road, and is seeking to expand their site with a new 4 storey building.

They requested TDSB consider donating the land, but would purchase it at fair market value if needs be; TDSB was prepared to look at a donation, but the Ministry refused to exempt them from regulations requiring it to be sold at fair market value. (what housing crisis?)
