Yes, there are similarities between this building and other Freed developments, but if you can't appreciate the differences between them, why do you spend time on a site that's mostly concerned those differences?

I personally don't think it's oversized nor banal.
I would go so far as to say it might be the best Freed building, and I guess it probably should be considering the prices. A 10 storey structure is just about right for this neighbourhood. The mix of materials looks to be of high quality and not too much glass or awful looking stucco to make it banal.
It was never going to look like the 70 year old buildings that surround it, but I do think it'll end up paying enough respect to them when completed.
