this is looking better than most of the bland, overpriced condos going up near the financial district. Glad to see my old neighborhood being revitalized!!!
Regent Park is one development I don't mind them bulldozing. See ya! And don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. This is a great revitalisation for a neighbourhood that was sketchy at best. The colours on the building are great.
Who's going to change those LEDs on the roof when they burn out? That aside, seems like Diamond Schmitt's giving itself permission to have a little fun, if only just a little.
Like Regent Park, the city's other big community housing neighbourhood of Lawrence Heights (a.k.a. "The Jungle") is also slated for revitalization. Let us hope that exciting and well-thought out projects such as this one will be incorporated in that development as well. Toronto Community Housing has gone through tough times and its residents have occupied some of the ugliest and slummiest neighbourhoods in the entire city. Finally it seems that communities like Regent Park and Lawrence Heights will be assets and points of pride for the City of Toronto and no longer embarrassments. Well done!
