Photos of Barrie's downtown (Dunlop Street) and the Lake Simcoe waterfront...
Barrie's downtown transit terminal/bus station, located at Maple and Simcoe near the waterfront.
Across the street from the terminal, on the waterfront, is the Spirit Catcher. Featured at Vancouver's Expo '86, the sculpture is now considered Barrie's symbol.
The "wings" of the figure is made up of what appears to be gigantic spears, and they move in the wind! I find gigantic steel sculptures to be intimidating, but the wings add a new level of intimidation to it!
Group photo with friends in front of the Spirit Catcher
Ice cream shack
Centennial Park beach on Kempenfelt Bay, very busy on this weekend, with the Barrie Brew and BBQ Festival
Roast pig on a spit
Heading into downtown Barrie, one of the first things I noticed was the back sides of downtown buildings that face the waterfront.
Barrie's "Five Points" intersection (Bayfield & Dunlop)
East on Dunlop
Memorial Square
Weird looking City Hall
More backsides of buildings facing the waterfront
