Thought this strip deserved it's own thread since nothing else covers it. Running from Yonge to Parliament this has always been considered the 'poor sister' to Bloor West but things have changed rapidly over the last 5 years. New condos, including the high profile, high end 1 Bloor East plus it's emergence as a media hub have breathed new life into this area. Canwest Global recently opened a ground level studio at Bloor & Church and now the National Post has announced it's moving from Don Mills to Greenwin Square near Bloor & Sherbourne. http://business.financialpost.com/2012/08/17/postmedia-network-and-national-post-reveal-new-downtown-toronto-hq/

If the rumours of HBC converting all or part of its store at Bloor and Yonge to Bloomingdale's pans out, then expect this stretch to transform even more quickly.

I hope that includes some changes to the front of that horrible building. I'll be so happy when that bank is gone and something else gets built in it's place. It would be perfect for a nice restaurant with a big sidewalk patio.
