Before the 1515 tower, Montana had some brick about halfway up, but here you don’t see brick on high rises often.
It's only one little strip on the north side only. I don't think that's enough to turn the project around. This might turn the project around, for me at least. I like the brick.
Does anyone know the product that they are using? I assuming it's some sort of "fake" brick paneling that doesn't require mortar and reduces the labour. Would this brick be something similar to what is used on residential homes or is it more of a commercial-quality / scale thing?Brick going up on the north face:View attachment 588540
I like brick most of the time, but it just seems weird to me to only use brick on one small strip of one facade. I fear it will look out of place and ruin any design unity/symmetry.It's only one little strip on the north side only. I don't think that's enough to turn the project around.
Oh I read an article on this recently. The are some issues with Calgary's climate among other reasons that limit its use.I like brick most of the time, but it just seems weird to me to only use brick on one small strip of one facade.
