Are there any plans to develop the lot across from this on the south side of University Ave?

Nothing as far as development permits have been submitted, but the overall plan is to have mixed use residential on that parcel.
The parcels that peak might interest are the ones immediately north of Argyle and autumn, where the old family student housing was. I hope they build something substantial, doesn’t have to be a high-rise, but something substantial.

What is it with UD that projects go up so quick, it is so fascinating to me? IMO it is the right scale, location, and the fact they built the catalysts (parks, restaurants, etc.) first.
My only disappointment with UD is that it isn't that close to a major transit route (thus why I have never been).

One of the reasons the U/D ones are going up so quickly is because it’s a greenfield site, even though it’s not traditional greenfield. Also demand is strong for that location.

I suspect part of it too is that all the land is already zoned for what they're building, so there are fewer hoops to jump through and a quicker turn around from concept to shovels in the ground.
