From someone who takes his wife to the Tom Baker Center for treatment, I cant wait for this to eventually open and replace that terrible building.

Exactly, I have been to the Tom Baker cancer for treatments for both my parents. I’m really glad they built this new facility.

Wasn't the original plan (PC Party) to renovate the Tom Baker and add some smaller spaces in the other hospitals?

The original plan was to build just south of the Children's Hospital (where the lake is now). Lots of plans over the years.

I think you're right. Jim Prentice announced a renovation and a smaller cancer centre at the South Health Campus. It was Notley who reversed the decision and led to the new comprehensive cancer centre at Foothills.

Cancer Centre has finished construction and has now been officially handed over to AHS for commissioning. Article has a couple interior pictures and the video is taken in front of the inner garden space.

Interesting name, and good on that guy to donate 50 mil. I’m curious to see what it ends up being called in the end, I’ve heard lots of people call the Tom Baker Cancer Centre of the Baker Centre. But calling this the Child centre sounds like some hospital for children or something.
