Plans for a 5 storey condo in the SE corner got shared to residents back in 2020 and received lots of feedback. Per Brookfield:

"We firmly believe DC 3 / Site 5 is the “right” location for an apartment building. However, in response to local feedback, we have modified the proposed regulations for DC 3 / Site 5 to restrict the future building envelope in such a way that will ensure a sensitive transition to the existing development. These proposed regulations will allow for a maximum building height of 10 metres (approximately 3 storeys) directly adjacent to 24 Street SW. The building will then be able to “step up” to 16 metres (4-5 storeys). After 16 metres, the height will increase proportionately within a “line of sight” to a maximum of 26 metres."

Has anyone else been by these townhouses since they've completed? I really should have pulled in and taken a picture. Every single townhouse has white PVC furnace intake / exhaust pipes sticking out about 2-3 feet over the driveways.

Oh no... some developers really do the bare minimum.

Sad but not surprising. Even from the pictures months ago, this looks only marginally better than the new townhouse developments going up in Livingston, Belmont, Belvedere etc. Even the stuff going up in Alpine Park shows a lot more character and attention to detail than this does (IMO).

It was devised like 2 years too early. Another project like this was the former CBC site - but thankfully they went back to the drawing board with a denser plan.

It really looks ridiculous from Bow Trail where you see like 20 in a row from the side. Dark siding too so they really stand out.

Even better when the condensate is dripping on the hood of your car in the winter.

The exhaust from the high efficiency furnaces are quite ugly, hopefully they can plant trees and screen them.

Just poking around on Alpha Built's website after seeing their latest DP for Midfield heights, and they show a rendering of them doing the multi in the SE corner of this project. Maybe it is happening? This is all I have seen on it, there doesn't appear to be an active DP as of yet on DMap:

It does say 2028 so could be a little early. At one point someone either from Alpha or someone who had done some work for them posted on here about the Kings Landing project. If they're around maybe they can shed some light on this?

That Alpha Built project looks decent - certainly a hell of a lot better than Brookfield's townhomes...
