Wow, Swan Mall is going to look nothing like it does now when all is said and done. I'm not sure I'm on board with that aspect of the project. Yet more campus greenery under the paving stone of modernism. The new tower and block look nice though.
I heard an interesting fact about the course of the pathways on this part of campus. When the blocks were built, they waited a year to put in the concrete foot paths because they wanted to see the routes the students themselves were using. That's why you don't see many trampled dirt shortcuts on this part of campus. Unlike some of the more newly paved areas like the field between engineering, ICT, Earth Science and Mac Hall.

Unfortunately some deep utility work needs to happen under the Mall. More greenery will come in the expanded gap between the new block and MacEwan Hall.

This building will constantly look different throughout the day and according to the temperature, the sun, passing clouds, winds, and predicted weather based on the season. Windows will open or close and blinds will rise or fall to adjust the temperature, and the building will open at night to cold soak the concrete to provide passive cooling for almost all of the buildings cooling needs (maybe 10 days a year it will be hot enough to need supplemental cooling for some of the day, and maybe 5 days a year it won't get cold enough to passively cool it)
