No haha. Swan Mall is being razed and revitalized as part of phase one (the tower). Phase 2, the 4 storey block demolition and reconstruction, does not begin until phase 1 is done.

There are deep old sewers, storm sewers and river water supply lines iirc (the university has its own pumping station for irrigation and cooling water in Parkdale) under there from when the campus was first being built in the late 50s that need to be upgraded.

Wonder why Swann Mall is looking different today?

Between April 27 and Aug. 26, detours will be in place around Swann Mall, Murray Fraser Hall
 
The tower is no longer connected to Professional Faculties.

Wow dang, that's really something.

I finished school in 2009 and I had thought then that there was a lot of work being done around campus. Turns out I was wrong when I thought the 2015 grads would have it all. It'll be the 2030 grads at this rate and they're gonna get way more than I imagined.
