I am just loving the widespread densification of towers across the Beltline. Even with how many towers are in the SW Beltline, this will be the tallest of them in that area :)

Materials are going up on the podium now. This will be one of the nicer Canadian tires in the country me thinks.

This one is turning out actually amazing. <3 :)

Great shots beltline. This project is awesome. That corner of 17th and 8th will literally have everything within steps.

* except for a movie theatre.

Yea they really need a movie theatre on 17th or at least have it be one of the first things added to the entertainment district when the initial development starts

I agree but, but unfortunately that will of course not be happening for quite a while (if it was, it would be part of a proposal by now). However, you're right in that the Entertainment District would be theee perfect place for a major theatre, if not the premier of the city. I hope that Scotiabank gets behind any future development of a major downtown theatre and makes it the Scotiabank Cineplex Theatre of the city instead of it being at dang Chinook.

Its funny how in renderings, they always show people hanging around next to the building checking their phones, etc., but in real life there will probably be a security guard kicking people off the chairs if they aren't customers.

lol. Yup. Although I'm happy to see them showing a patio in front of Urban Fare, that's a great place to have one. I suspect the security won't be as bad as Brookfield Place or the Bow.

I love everything about the design except the colour choices, I liked the pure white and darker brown columns they had in the initial renderings. It had a very LA feel to it, simple yet bright and popping, now it feels like theres a bit too much going on, colours aren't really flowing together.

Is it just me or do the renderings show a cream tile finish which has now been value engineered for a cheap looking stucco or EIFs?

No, what you're looking at in the renders is exactly what is being installed, which is limestone tile cladding.

The original renders were completely horrendous, I don't know what you're talking about...
