The towers honestly just look like of a couple of giant box cutters sticking pointy end up out of the ground.
As much as I agree from a skyline perspective, first we need something/someone to fill up the Nexen building!Agreed
now we need a 250m job between Nexen & WVT
from the heat wave or the podium?poor trees, probably all be dead by the weekend
I was thinking about the tree planting schedule the other day. Are the schedules on builds like this so defined (well, apart from the glazing on the towers for this one....) that the ability to look at the forecast and see the largest heat wave in Calgary's history would still not be able to delay the tree planting? Or, is the overall cost minor in comparison to the total project, that if Cidex has to replace a bunch of dead trees to get FAC, it won't be an issue to them?Man, that is one fugly piece of architecture. Somebody must have thought that the trees, once full grown, would cover it up. They would have been better to wait and plant them in the fall and give them a better chance of survival.
if they looked after them they would probably do well there with that unblocked southern exposure.
its in everyones best interest those trees flourish.
Some cacti would have seemed more appropriate.
