So I thought I'd throw a little 1,000th-post-day party for myself (I've taken my sweet time getting here). To that end:
One of the neat things about Google Maps is that, since the data comes from circa 2002, it depicts the Toronto we knew four short years ago, just before the boom kicked into high gear. It was a different city... a city that had at least 20 more parking lots than are left today.
So... can you Spot that Lot?
All but one of the buildings are south of Bloor and west of the Don. And NO CHEATING! That means having a hunch and going to Google Maps to see if the pictures match up.
At least four pictures are construction sites, not parking lots. But that's cool too. Name them also! (warning: one is pretty obscure)
And here's a hint for the first picture: looking at this allows me to date it as being taken before September 2002, when I watched the tower crane being erected, that would build the mid-sized tower that now stands there - but after demolition of the building that was there before, some months previous.
Happy spotting!
