Re: The new AGO is not a real Gehry

Did you forget your in Toronto? We will probably get a few new trees and a bench, which of course will be called a new "world class" park! lol

Re: The new AGO is not a real Gehry

With the utmost respect, you should do a little traveling Esplanade Guy. The grass is not greener on the other side.

I've yet to find a perfect city. They may do better with certain aspects where Toronto is lagging, but Toronto may be ahead of them in other aspects.

As our city matures, we're finally getting it. Toronto is demanding "beautiful" in addition to "functional".

I travel and compare

I should do a little more traveling? lol I've been to almost all the world's "world class" cities, most of the continents and every province in Canada. (except Newfoundland) I've lived in Europe for half a year, Quebec for 10 years and spent almost 2 months on vacation in Asia this year. When I travel to a city, I don't just see the tourist attractions, I go to see the real city, including the grittier parts, so I have a lot to compare to. (I do like to compare, as a reference to see how were doing)

I am not anti-Toronto at all, it's quite the opposite! I think Toronto is blessed in many ways but I also see how we could be so much better. If people cared and put just a little more effort into making Toronto a better place, we could really become a great city. Most people take from the city and give little back. Unfortunatly, Toronto seems to be a place, few of it's citizens really love. (unlike SF or Montreal) Hopefully, one day we will get over our massive inferiority complex and that will change. Yes, I agree, we are on the right path and the city is getting bigger and better.
