Thanks for the super-duper pictures. With the possible exception of the National Ballet School, I don't think there's a better example than MaRS of how to combine old and new to make the whole thing look great.

I've had occcasion to be in 401 Richmond a couple of times, and you can almost feel the creativity percolating as you walk the halls and look at what's going on behind some of the windows.

Okay, I'm already planning my to-do list for next year: Carlu, TD, 401 Richmond (can't believe I haven't done these yet, but I have been out of town for all but this year and one a few years ago).

Great pics, Darkstar.

401 Richmond is open to the public; you can just wander in and visit anytime. No need to wait until Doors Open. There's several sites like that, CCBR comes to mind as another example.

What function has the MaRs building got? I like the interior.
Also, that terrace/ garden on the roof of 401 Richmond is awesome. Very original.

It's a medical/biotech research centre.

MaRs: Medical and Related Sciences.
