There is a good article in the National Post today (Apr. 25) about Ian Gillespie, developer of the Shangri-La. Sorry I can't find an electronic link.

I thought the following snippets were interesting:

"Mr. Gillespie, 44, is already one of the largest real estae developers in Canada with $4 billion of projects underway."

" 'We're kind of outgrowing Vancouver, and that's a downer for me' he said. The company is putting together deals for Calgary while it is awaiting final approval for the condominium and hotel project in Toronto. He vowed other projects will follow in Toronto every 12 to 18 months. ... When his rivals' names are brought up, an outspoken Mr. Gillespie shakes his head. He described Mr. Trump as a 'caricature of himself' while saying Mr. Stinson is more of a promoter than a developer. 'The last time I was in Toronto I was up late and I saw him [Stinson] on TV flogging his project ... I seriously thought about pulling the plug if that's what real estate development was about in Toronto' ".
