Any one interested in having their granite counters seal professionally ??

i got a quote of this guy ... He is a professional, he is doing "side jobs"" to earn extra $$ ... he is using professional cleaner + sealers ... so it will actually be more durable than the DIY stuff..

it is about $180 ( includes everything: material + labour ) including kitchen + bathroom

How do everybody update you guys' address?
I tried Canada Post, Service Ontario, and also many credit card internet banking to update my address but couldn't go through. It always says "invalid" seems the street 19 Singer Court and postal code " M2K0B2" doesn't match or what.
 
it took at least 3 months (from early Dec to late feb) before many system recognize the postal code for building A ..... so be patient.:)
 
So if I go post office directly, are they able to update the new address for me and direct all mails to new address?

When I did my PDI (for 19 singer court), they said late spring... I did write 8 post dated cheques for the "rent" that we pay during the interim closing though.
 
Hi, new member but I have a unit in Building A. Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the following:

1. People are parking on both sides of Singer Court, leaving room for only one car to go through at a time. This is quite annoying as I have to wait for a car coming from the opposite direction to come all the way through before I can go. Is this temporary (for agent home showings) or will they put a stop to this?

2. The spiral ramp behind Building A going from Singer Court down to the garage entrance (the ramp that overlooks the railway) - there are no guardrails along one of the bends, which could be dangerous. Has anyone brought this up with management and are they going to do anything about this?

3. The visitor parking garage entrance on Singer Court after you turn in from Provost - I find it so stupid that the intercom is on the left side of the driveway. My guest buzzed the garage door open only to find a car right in front of him that was trying to exit the garage. Shouldn't the intercom be in the middle?

4. Does anyone know of any good electricians for a reasonable price? I need somebody to look at the wiring in one of the lighting "docks" on my ceiling.

5. The hallway along the recreational area in Building B (fitness centre, gym) gets so hot and smothering at certain times of the day when a lot of people are using the amenities. Does anyone know if the hallway has a decent ventilation system and is management aware that they need to use it?

6. I have a suspicion that the oven that comes with the unit takes longer to bake things than other ovens (I don't bake but a friend pointed this out to me as she was trying to bake something using my oven). Has anyone else tried it and noticed this or is it just me?

I also noticed a lot of posts a few pages ago about drilling into thin walls and stuff. I have a possible solution for you guys:

They hold quite well. I use them on an 8 LB painting that measures 60x30 inches, and it holds perfectly. You can get them at Canadian Tire.
 
OMG, ok, so I wasn't crazy to notice the intercom and remote on the wrong side of the garage entrance. I thought this was due to the Hong Kong builders that forgot they were building this in North America.

I find it so dumb that I'm in building A, but on P3, which requires me to exit the garage to get to my elevator. Anybody on P2 interested in trading?
 
actually at P3 , there is a BIG ramp going up ( in the middle of the parking lot ) ... just be careful since cars are driving FAST .... go up the ramp , it will land you in P2 , then you keep going on your left ( so left when you are standing on top of the ramp , and another left when you in front of the garage door , then u will see the elevator for building A ....... i know this sounds crazy specially when you having a handful of grocery bags ... now i am buying less and less grocery due to the distance from my parking space to building A ... ( my parking space is right under building E )

Visitor Pickup

Question about visitors who have gotten the visitors pass and park on P1. Do all owners come down to pick them up? Because each elevator door requires a fob key access more or less as each one corresponds to a building.

So even thought the visitors make it into the parking lot, is it the usual practice that they just wait there before seeing the resident come down to find them? It's not like there are signs that designate where to wait where visitors can tell which is Building A-E areas.

I made the same complaint at the concierge desk and they said that you can tell them in advance that you are expecting guests, give them your unit number, and they can take your guests to the elevator and push the button for you. Your guests can take the elevator up to the Ground floor without the fob key.

I can see residents doing that more later as guests arrive to the Ground Floor without a car. However, to have security eagerly wanting to go down to the P1 and actually find the right person waiting to escort them to the elevators and the resident trying to explain to their guests what to do, with no phone reception signal in P1.....I can only say "good luck", might as well do the old fashion method of meeting them at the lobby to get their pass and go with them or wait for them near the entrance of P1 when they come in.
