My PDI is scheduled for tomorrow and it’s the first my partner and I have ever done considering this is our first property purchase. Is there anything we should be looking out for specifically or any advice you could give us?

-Confirm upgrades and finishes are correct
-Check for defects and damage on material
-doors open and close properly
-It’s not the end - you will have opportunity to continue monitoring / finding defects once you occupy

Adding to the above
* turn on the taps to ensure both hot/cold water are working, and check for leaks
* flush toilets
* turn on appliances => make sure to double check if anything is inside the appliance before doing so!
* look up at the ceiling as well
* open windows
* don't feel rushed!

FYI - A friend of mine is a realtor and went with his client to a PDI the other day at East55 and was very impressed. Said the finishes were great and the balconies are really deep! He showed me some photos and it looked awesome!

We had our "PDI" yesterday. But because the unit wasn't complete, there were elements still missing and unfinished, they weren't comfortable with us doing our official PDI, so we'll be going back in a week or so to do it. But they did let us go up and do an unofficial inspection which was great; it allowed us to check all our finishes, customizations and other critical items. And overall, we were super pleased. All the changes/additions we made were done correctly and the quality of the finishes were great. I would say to other purchasers, pay attention to the walls and trim - we had a ton of deficiencies; gouges, inconsistent painting and scratches in all the rooms. It looked all rushed, and even the gentlemen that escorted us made a remark how the workmanship in our unit was not at the same level as other units he's escorted for other PDIs. That said, the tiling in the washrooms were done really well. Here are a couple photos. Will share more after our official PDI ;)

Wow amazing - you have the penthouse unit with that terrace? I'm totally jealous!
Thanks. It’s not a penthouse unit, it’s one of two east facing units that sits on the building’s podium (9th floor) which gives it a good sized terrace. We bought this floorplan because we were looking for decent outdoor space. The view isn’t the best but we knew that and expected something would eventually get built and block it - which the proposed 49 Ontario St build will do, and we’re cool with that :)

Did our PDI this morning and it was great! A few minor deficiencies but nothing major at all. Finishes are excellent. Very happy with our suite - can't wait to move in!

Is that the Nagoya? Looks good! That’s the floor plan we bought too. Our PDI is tomorrow morning.
