I'm not sure you get the idea... The water is taken from the lake, used to cool water on a closed loop for Enwave, and then distributed as drinking water through the city's water system.

The interesting detail is that even after it cools Enwaves system, the city has to warm up the water a bit before they can put it into their own system. It's still too darn cold

Excellent question. EnWave doesn't say in their documentation but I presume the cold temperatures cause the pipes to shrink, so a poor fitting or worn joint would get worse.
