^^^^ I don't mind the finishes for this building; they have taken the pains to align joints with windows and to make it sensible and sensitive from an aesthetic perspective. The over-all design is engaging.

I think that this is a respectable addition to the Edmonton Built Environment. There certainly are myriad worse examples in the realm of new projects. Thank-you NEXT for the effort!

It has the same general form, but there was much more of an open feel with waaaay more windows in the original render.

I do think it is still decent and all, just a lot less glass, the overall comparison from render to product is somewhat of a disappointment for me. I agree we've seen much worse, unfortunately.

Sometimes Unions have to be prudent as well people. Money don"t grow on trees, and they have to be considerate to the union members that have to pay monthly union fees and working fees on top of that.

Considering the state of AUPE affairs since spring 2019, it's a miracle that the final product remains so close to the original concepts.
And FWIW, I have to give AUPE props. Given the location and scope of use, they could have easily built a beige rectangular office building and nobody would have batted an eye, but they chose to build something unique and interesting.
But where are the pink trees??? They should ask for money back.
