Hope Blatchford continues with the momentum we've been witnessing of late. Starting to community up.
Agreed. The builders predicted that it would be easier to sell units once their showhomes were open and people moved in, because it's easier for them to sell units when they have successful examples to point to, rather than merely promises and predictions. Hopefully this holds true, and the momentum picks up now that it's an actual neighbourhood rather than an abstract concept.

I’ve got a slight obsession with Copenhagen and Oslo that makes me hope that blatchford can still become our showcase neighbourhood for interesting design... but I have a feeling it’s just gonna be a whole lot of bland... here’s what I hope for for the multi family. Mostly Copenhagen and Oslo, but I think I slipped in one Helsinki...

A fair bit has happened since I last visited Blatchford. Firstly, more people have moved in and it's starting to look like a lively residential community; I saw someone walking their dog on the trail by the storm pond, someone else drove past me to their garage in a nice sports car, and there are little signs that the homes are occupied, like a shovel and bag of ice melt on one door step, and a pride banner and hockey net near another. As well, the exterior for another set of row houses is almost completed, and substantial progress has been made on the foundation for another residential building. The trails in the central park (which has the pond) are done, the infrastructure in the playground is all put in, and the playground and another spot nearby also have wood planters for community gardens. Mutti Homes' show home opened recently, and Encore Master Builder's show home will open this week (they currently use a small "sales centre" based on the property of their residential development).

These pictures are posted in the order that I took them (starting by airport road, going further into the community, and then looping back around the other side of phase one), so you need to look for the pictures that show completed/occupied homes.

Was just browsing around on realtor.ca as one is wont to do, and noticed that there are now the rest of the phase 1 lots up for sale. The listings also show a bit more of the phase 1 plans.

I love this, but I really hope they start building up East Blatchford near the Metro Line and NAIT soon, otherwise we could have a literal "LRT-to-nowhere" situation here 😅

Just a rough estimation but the currently available lots cover ~450m, and from the south east end on that image it's only another ~350m. Assuming no phased opening of the LRT extension there is another four years to get there.
From a purely selfish perspective I hope one of the mixed use plots is developed soon. Not much point in a denser, walkable community if there is nothing to walk to.

Another thing to remember is that there are two stops at Blatchford. The first is further south; closer to the current NAIT stop, and Blatchford's commercial district. Given its proximity to the existing NAIT buildings, it will still get a fair bit of use in the years before that part of Blatchford is touched. Although the second stop is a bit of a distance from the homes currently under construction, it is right next to Blatchford's central park. Perhaps until that area gets developed further, they'll add some connections to the park so that it can be more of a destination for riders?

Here are two maps from Blatchford's website. One shows the first two stages of phase one, while the other highlights the LRT route for reference.
