It's not just Blue Chicago that Alldritt is sitting on. How about the land on 124 St north of Stony Plain Road, or that tower in The Quarters? Which of these 3 developments take priority?
I imagine they would try to line up timing with the VLW. Being built before opening of VLW is a risk and its probably easier to maintain just the lot for now. I imagine this, and all the other Alldritt developments along the VLW won't start construction for a couple more years at minimum.
It would be nice to be wrong tho.
Ideally you'd want to open after the LRT construction, so my guess is that they'll start (that is IF they actually plan to build anything) in about 2-years, and that is following an aggressive schedule.
I drive by this site daily. Few weeks ago I saw a small truck with a drilling equipment attached. I guess they were taking soil samples. So maybe it is going to move forward sooner than most think.
PS: I prefer white fence and green lawn to any other empty lot.
