It'll blend right into the skyline in no time. People won't even realize it's a new building, like it's been there for 20 years already.

Most buildings don't dramatically change the skyline, what really matters is this fills a long empty space and will add more people in the area.

All they had to do was slightly frosted / textured glass on the railings that was more like the rendering and it would've made a world of difference.

This is just my opinion so don't mean to trigger anyone - but this is not looking good. The only plus here being an empty lot bites the dust and we add some more residents and density, but this overall is very disappointing (at least to me).

I would be fine with the boring design if the rental prices were low. Budget building, budget rent. If the rents are high, it's a miss.

They're quite high and don't include any utilities (which is rare in rental apartments, unless that's something that's unfortunately changing now)

sadly, this is where the market is moving. Prices have jumped a lot the last 6 months. Stuff that was 1900-2200 is now 2200-2600.
still cheaper than Vancouver

Yet somehow cities with rental prices much higher than ours have a lot more people living downtown. The fundamental problem here isn't how much it costs to live downtown, it is how appealing it is.
I suspect they will see how the market reacts and they have over priced, then they will need to adjust accordingly.

Oh sadly I fell they actually get the Edmonton mentality, people care how it looks inside and are fairly oblivious to the exterior. That has been fairly consistent here over decades.
