The time-lapse "north-west" camera view now makes it easy to compare building heights vis-a-vis the J.W. Marriott and the Edmonton Tower. For this particular camera view, the Marriott building has reached the horizon line with the floor level (not yet poured) of the 18th floor hitting directly on the horizon line. This is roughly compared to the 16th floor of the Edmonton Tower. The two-floor discrepancy is accounted for in the difference of the floor-to-floor heights of the two buildings (although not all of them because the floor-to-floor heights of the lower six floors of the Marriott are much greater than those of the upper floors). The room floors of the Marriott are much smaller in height than the office floors of the Edmonton tower -- a ratio probably like 10:13 (roughly). Marriott will probably match Edmonton Tower height around floor 36 or 37.

Great pictures as always Dave. On the February 2nd 'Looking Forward to 2017' update from the Ice District they expected to be nearing the 20-storey mark for both the Stantec and Marriott towers by May so it looks like they are way ahead of that schedule. These typical floors for the hotel suites are likely the easiest pours so they should continue to make good time until the transition starts from the Hotel to the Residences.

I drove by on 104th Ave this morning and the first of the glazing is now being installed on the North side, quite a bottle neck there now in the Eastbound direction down to one lane.

So it is. Sorry for the crude capture and ms paint job. Haha.

I didn't realize this forum was in real time! Thanks for the confirmation westcoastjos.
Haha. It is when you have instant email notifications. I don't find it to be too spammy here as it is just in regards to building updates, so I keep them on. :)
