^ not likely! More like general fan noise -- you know the derivative of fan is from the base "fanatics".
They had to trade Skinner in order to make it work. He makes a lot more than Pickard.^
While it's probably not a surprise to see Jarry coming this way, it was initially a surprise to see Skinner going the other way. Having said that, after the initial surprise wore off, it looks like a vote of confidence in Ingram and the other young goalies in the system (deservedly so by all accounts) as well as in Pickard's ability to be a solid backup. All in all, probably a good trade at this end and at the other end as the Penguins get some experienced youth in Skinner vs Jarry noting that the Penguins are also quite deep in goal. Jarry gets a good shot at a cup and Skinner gets a clean start in a great city to live in where I wish him all the best (as frustrating as he could be to watch at times, he has been equally good at times and he has always been a good citizen and a good teammate).
Agreed although $2.6 million for Skinner vs $1 million for Pickard vs Jarry;s $5.375 million. Probably also the reason for moving Kulak at $2.750 million and bringing in Stastny at $825k. I think the fact that Jarry's contract still has term while both Skinner and Kulak's contracts are up at the end of this season probably also factored in.They had to trade Skinner in order to make it work. He makes a lot more than Pickard.
