it's a lil' mini knockoff of Calgary's Platform Parkade, a project which itself hasn't gone over well. This is just a concrete structure, wrapped in some metal screen thing that looks slick in renders but craptastic in real life. We get renders showing users doing everything but driving and parking the cars the whole structure was built for, a sales pitch about some rather basic public amenities, and promises of positive impacts on the surrounding the community coming from what is, for all intents and purposes, a concrete shell.
I'm disappointed in this whole project, but seeing all this high-brow design thinking being put into lipsticking this pig makes me cranky. just build a normal parkade and be realistic about he lack of benefits it's gonna provide. the song and dance is unnecessary.
