After hearing all the horror stories about the process to date, I am very curious to see how the final product actually turns out. Sounds like it has been quite the mess so far
Yes, there have been many, many issues behind the scenes and some people that are no longer around on the project. They've scaled back some of the design in and out, but this will still look really great when it is finished.

I heard similar

Some areas where there were 3-4 ceilings because they just reno'd over old renos, lol
