U of A ranks among world’s top six per cent in latest Times Higher Education rankings

University ties for first globally in Industry category based on partnerships and patents. The University of Alberta was ranked among the top six per cent of the world’s top universities and fifth in Canada in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings released today.

Great angle. Shows the long-lasting impact of the municipal airport overlay that capped the height of buildings in large parts of downtown near the flight paths. Only a few new constructions have pierced the now-defunct overlay.

Even though they're non-descript glass boxes, I really quite like Stantec Tower and the JW Marriott—or specifically, I love the way they reflect sunrises and sunsets.
