Stephen Teeple, the architect, was interviewed in this article. According to him, the Minler "is “clearly the best” of recently completed libraries across Canada, including the Central Library in Calgary" and he implies that Edmontonians don't like it because they aren't "used to how dynamic it is."
I don't want to be rude, because the interior seems genuinely nice, but these comments reek of some willful ignorance.
