@archited I'm sure electric and driverless cars will have some benefits, but I still feel they are working to solving the wrong problems. I'd rather we continued to build our cities to be less dependent on such vehicles altogether.

Of course the Stantec Tower thread might not be the right place for this conversation. :)

@crisp in many cities around the world core downtown blocks are banning vehicles altogether -- car-crazy Los Angeles is taking a look at that. Before that can happen, however, public transit needs to be convenient, comfortable, and client-concious as well as being efficient, aesthetic, and entertaining. Edmonton is not there yet, but, if downtown density keeps increasing, it may happen sooner than we think.

July 21 - forms for P1 going in; podium steel shaping up. Starting to get a feel for the massing of the podium and how much of a streetwall it will create.

Thanks Dave as always.

I'm finding the massing of the podium already up seems a lot larger and taller than I perceived from the renders. And from the renders, Tower B podium will be just as large. I think the plaza will feel a lot more enclosed in the end.

5 very long days and the mock-up is nearly completed. These guys from Flynn Canada are absolutely amazing to work with. Their system design and product is top notch! Looking forward to this team going 72 stories to the top.
