Orillia councilors support resolution to expand GO to Orillia using bus connection to Allandale Waterfront to start.
That makes sense. Those LINX buses are not adequate for those routes.

But this opens up the whole corridor to have GO services all the way to North Bay.

This really should be a Simcoe County Linx service, all they have to do is create an express branch of the Route 2 to go direct to Allandale. It doesn’t work right now because the Midland and Orillia buses only go to Georgian College, requiring another fare to transfer to Barrie Transit.

I was wondering why i was on the GO bus one day a couple weeks ago and it said “service changes coming April 13” then there were no changes for then, but they pushed it back to April 25

Aside from the typical reduction in service on the post secondary routes, and the seasonal service such as the 47/52 heading to Wonderland, 25 stopping at Toronto Premium Outlets, and 96 stopping at Toronto Zoo, we got some other notable changes worth talking about.

- 15 min mid day and evening weekend service returns from Oakville to Oshawa on both Lakeshore Lines, starting from May 2.

- New 8:49AM train leaving Union to Kitchener and 3:43PM train leaving Kitchener to Union, and both running counter peak express non stop between Bramalea and Bloor and then Union.

- Route 22 now gets extended to the Hwy 401/25 Park and Ride

- Route 27 now stops at Meadowvale Blvd/Financial Dr

- Route 30 now stops in Waterloo at University Ave/Weber St. Route 17 also will stop there with an additional new stop in Kitchener at Victoria St/Lackner Blvd

- Route 37 will sometimes head to Bramalea GO, which will now open up Caledon and Orangeville along Highway 10 to basically a connction to almost the entire GTA.

I’m overall both surprised and excited that we got these changes, especially the Lakeshore and Kitchener ones. Didn’t think we’d even get much outside of the university reduction and seasonal additions but i’m glad we did.

Great post @anb

But let me add some items in regards to GO Train service on the Lakeshore corridor. The weekend change on LSW starts May 2nd.

Also..........the April 25 schedules do not show 15M service mid-day or evenings on weekdays, there is no schedule posted for May 2nd or later.

We'll need to see what's going on post-May 2nd

For the Record, there has never been 15 minute off-peak service in the evenings on Lakeshore, that I recall, only weekday, mid-day, then the Ford gov't took that away, but added it on weekends from 3pm.

This is really odd to me............15M all-day, everyday Lakeshore would surely be a press conference with the Premier.

Unless someone made a mistake........I'm wondering if this is only the weekend service.

Both good changes, now if only they could make the 22 run more frequently than every 2 hours (and on weekends too).

Thank you, just edited it. Also they probably meant that its just 15 min all day weekend service, which includes just weekend mid day and evening. Maybe you got it confused with weekday mid day which i did at first as well until i re read the changes.

We’re probably not getting the 15 min all week Lakeshore service until the World Cup unfortunately, and even then it most likely would be temporary.
