Charming pictures of a very real and charming place. (I like this word; charming )

I wonder what those old homes $$ range is. You could live there in a $75K home and commute to Toronto, and have some money to retire on.

Flar: Good pics of Hamilton's North End...

Flar: Good pics of Hamilton's North End-again you give a good photo tour.
I will mention these pics:
#5 and #10-these are interesting brick homes-there are plenty of good brick house pics in this tour.
#6-Notice the lady walking into the store's backpack says " I Love NY "
#19-I like that old Coca Cola sign-a old classic!
#41-Interesting single level row houses with a common peaked roof.
#58-these twin brick houses look quite interesting. LI MIKE

Newest Northender

Am moving to the North End after living in Corktown for just about 5 years-or-so, and am very excited!

I LOVED Corktown, and am gonna miss it dearly (That goes double for the AWESOME Family who ran the Corktown Hasty Market)! But I am very excited to learn about a whole new hood which has just as much, if not more, character than my last hood.

Some updates/observations since these photos were taken:

#6: The Harbour Diner -- has since opened in that 'for sale' storefront. They offer great diner/ma&pa-type foods, fantastic and cheap breakfast!
#8 Fisher's Pier Resto -- Still kicking and doing great! Have yet to go, but plan on it VERY VERY soon (Fantastic Deals: http://www.menusonly.com/menus/fishers_pier4/fishers_pier4_menu.asp)
#10 Plain Rows -- Still here, still look EXACTLY the same. Must get a layer of fresh paint every year!
#17 Our Corner -- The side has been converted into a patio. Not as 'classy' as Fishers', but a seemingly OK local watering hole.
#28 Confused Siding -- Where is this? I want to see which finish he ended up going with! hahaha
#29 Cute Homes -- Had you panned a lil more east, you woulda seen my new digs ;)
#37 Rows on Corner -- One of these are for sale right now, priced @ $187,000 (http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=8480697). Great price for this area!
#38 Mac's North End Pub -- Still looks exactly the same and trashy! Terrible Kareoke on random evenings :s
#43 Old Galley Pump -- This used to be the Notorious Galley Pump Inn (nasty bar). Haven't ventured over to the East-North End yet, but I'll update as to what's going on here.
#44 Speakeasy -- This Bldg just recently sold, so who knows what's going to go here!? *crosses fingers*
#45 D&D -- Where is this? I've counted about a dozen corner stores within a 5min walking distance to my new place!
#55 Lost Potential Corner -- Still looks exactly the same, sitting nasty & neglected right across the street from the beautifully busy West Harbour.
#60 Burn Outs -- I believe these have been replaced with new, Stoney Creek'esq homes. Oh Italians!
#61 Bayview Park Homes -- House on the Left has been completely renovated. Awesome bayfront view from this spot!
