I should add that I've had the pleasure of visiting Locus 144, a new resto-bar lounge in Liberty Village and thought it was excellent.
A great sharing plates menu, a fun crowd that weren't overly-concerned with how they looked, welcoming and very cool design, plus fantastic service all made it a night to remember.
When I checked my bill in the morning I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it's not nearly as expensive as it looks.
I've also checked out a couple of other cools spots in the neighbourhood recently.
Cafe Cinquecento is a lovely restaurant with an excellent roof-top patio. They specialize in good, hearty Italian fare.
Barista is a little harder to find, located in the galleria of the Liberty Market Building (a few doors down from Locus 144), Mike and his staff focus on fantastic coffee and awesome sandwiches, again mostly of the Italian variety.
