Hello,
I'm looking for a loft or sliding interior door. Does anyone know where I can find one in Toronto (or the GTA)? I've seen them in many lofts to help separate rooms, and want to use them, rather than a pocket door.

I've found some places online, but they are located in the US, which makes shipping very expensive.

Conversely, does anyone know a contractor that does this type of work?

Thanks.

I live in a loft and was looking to replace my sliding "barn style" doors with glass ones.....try Home Depot.....they had quite a bit to choose from and could do them in almost any finish.

i checked out home depot, but i couldn't find any.
i found sliding doors for closets, but it's not really what i'm looking for. i need something larger (40" width).

thanks for the suggestion though.

As a carpenter i work for a company specializing in restoration/loft renovations, and have worked on a number of installs you describe. If you're at all D-I-Y, this is not a difficult project. The critical component is the hardware - the slab or slabs are standard order items from virtually any door supplier. Careful measuring and leveling is critical and be prepared to possibly need to install additional backing for fastening. Whether D-I-Y or installed by others, you are unlikely to find good quality headrail/rollers at depot/rona etc. Cheaper hardware will be noisy and clunky when operating the door. Having installed many systems I would highly recommend kncrowder http://www.kncrowder.com/ and specifically this line of product. http://www.kncrowder.com/pdf/C-911%20INSTRUCTION%20SHEET.pdf Once you have the right hardware, you are half way there!
